Salt of the Earth
You may know halite by it's common name; Rock Salt. In Halite Wines, Haidee and Ben endeavour to create ‘salt of the earth wines’ that are honest and delicious.
They work with grape growers who farm organically and follow suit in the winemaking process; gently guiding the fruit into becoming the best it can be. As with most things in life, this is down by allowing the wines time to transition and flow.
The debut Light Dry range has been thoughtfully crafted with a style in mind and is guaranteed to deliver on flavour.
2024 Light Dry White
A blanc de noir from organic Pinot Noir grown on the terraces of the Ruamahanga River in Martinborough. Flavours of zesty mandarin, lime sherbet, white peach and heady florals. A refreshing style with layers and length.
2024 Pinot Rosé
A Rosé made from organic Pinot Noir grown on the terraces of the Ruamahanga River in Martinborough and 5% Sangiovese. Reminiscent of berry sorbet in its freshness and crunch that leaves you salivating. Balanced, refreshing and delicious.
2024 Light Dry Red
An 80/20 blend of organic Pinot Noir and Sangiovese grown in Martinborough and Mangatahi. Layers of wild cherry, bramble, floral and earthy notes. It's a juicy and fruit-forward wine with textural flex, good length and concentration. But also incredibly drinkable.
